Black Bird

The painted bird is back. I found the first edition of Jerzy Kosinski's first novel, "Painted Bird", on the cover there is a fragment of Hieronimus Bosh painting, which was selected by Kosinski. Years ago when he visited Krakow I have listened him to speak about his reasons to select this particular painting, then I painted my own version, the painting is still in Krakow. Now, years later the idea is back in a different technique. I am planning to come back to Krakow with a series of black and white drawings to show at the Art Gallery Miodowa. Here is my travel plan, land in Amsterdam to visit Van Gogh's museum, stop over in Vienna to revisit Bosch's Last Judgement, then to Krakow. I will post more drawings, will wait for your comments.

  1. And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
    On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
    And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
    And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
    And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
    Shall be lifted - nevermore!
